Video Recording for Performing Arts

Side by Side Theatre & Music is offering a video recording service on a space available basis as a community service. One of our volunteers purchased high-definition video recording equipment and is happy to make videos available to select organizations on a minimal or no-cost basis.

A couple of our beginning projects were the Gold and Silver Orchestra concerts during the pandemic as public performances were restricted. We were learning back then, but have upgraded equipment and techniques to give you the best we can. In the last couple of years we have assisted elementary students' instructors with their students reciting poetry for a school-only presentation.

A three-camera perspective will be used where possible and merged into a final high definition movie. Your presentation should not be limited by copyright, or you should have permission from the author / publisher to make a recording for home viewing or public distribution. For example, Music Theatre International Jr. frequently offers you an add-on license covering a DVD recording for at-home viewing of your show.

Please ensure that you have a video release for students!

To help us make the best recording possible for you, we request that this recording be without audience (e.g. a dress rehearsal) that can be easily edited to eliminate bloopers or retakes.

The final product could be a DVD at a materials cost, or an MP4 video file, provided you have the capability of receiving a multi-gigabyte document.
